MoosingChomp

A quieter kind of ad

Small, clearly labeled ads for the sites we own.

MoosingChomp lets a group of websites recommend each other. Every ad says what it is, nothing follows you from site to site, and a person reads each ad before it appears.

What you will see

An ad is a short piece of text, sometimes with a picture, that points to another one of our sites. It always carries the same small label, Ad, so you know what it is before you read it.

An example page. A short ad with the small label Ad above a headline, one sentence and a link. Further down, a small footer mark links to the list of member sites.

What we leave out

How it works

  1. A person writes and approves each ad

We choose the words, the link and the exact sites where the ad may appear. If any of those change, the ad needs approval again.

  2. We publish one small file

The file lists the approved ads. It is replaced as a whole, so a site never sees a half-finished list.

  3. Our sites show it

A small script on each site reads the file and draws the ad. If anything goes wrong, it draws nothing and the page carries on as before.
